Turbo Timer/Remote Starter Problem

Hey I'm new to all of this (to owning a diesel or a RHD truck etc..) - has anyone had problems installing a remote starter on a truck that has a turbo timer? If I use the remote starter the truck only starts for whatever amount of time the turbo timer was set for. When I shut the truck off, the turbo timer does not switch on. The only time the turbo timer engages is when the remote starter is used. Has anyone had a similar issue?
