My rear window has been giving problems - struggling to go up, sticking and then sticking coming down. Read the threads and suspected that it was problems with the relay, pitted contacts etc.
This was not the case. The problem was that the cog on the motor was slipping on the shaft so that the motor ran without the window moving.
I know that replacement motors are very expensive so decided to investigate the motors on the rear passenger door windows. These are identical so it was a simple job to swap the motors over and now the boot window goes up with a speed and power that is a joy to watch. The rear passenger door window is stuck in the up position but this is no problem as the only passenger on the back seat has four legs.
