Any ideas ?

Is the body of the oil pressure sender earthed?

The Surf's temp gauge wire is in the large white plug in the footwell, which I have here to send to you.Originally posted by zem_41 View PostHi Vince
I have lost the message you sent about where to connect the the temp sender wire to get the surf temp gauge working.
Sorry
Same goes for the reverse lights and speedo.
To be honest I don't really measure it out, but it's around 50/50.Originally posted by zem_41 View PostOh and what ratio do you put anti freeze in?

As long as there's good colour in it then it'll be fine.
T/case wiring arrived today by the way.
p.s. did you modify and extend the two wire (green and red wires) speed sensor connection to the transfercase? It's part of the engine/transmission loom.
I forgot to do that one and without it the transmission won't shift out of 1st gear!

Yes, the fuel pump relay needs a signal (oil pressure) to switch over to constant running when the engine is running.Originally posted by zem_41 View PostWhen you say the oil pressure switch wire, that's just to my new sender right?
Thanks
The fuel pump primes the fuel rails when cranking, but won't click over to constant running until the engine fires up and the oil is circulating to trigger the pressure switch.
The fuel pump will stop pumping fuel if the engine stalls when you hit a tree for example.
It also means you can leave the ignition on when checking for any ECU codes.

Oooh...exciting times
Try and get a video...even if it's just a phone vid.
BTW: What have you guys done with the redundant fan bracket? Have yous replaced it with a pulley/idler or something?

Is there anything I need to be checking? apart from the obvious ie sump plug in, oil/coolant in.
Will the bits your doin Vince stop me from starting?
I know I should know this by now but is the surf ecu staying right?
Cheers buddy
The Surf ECU is redundant now, so either bin it or sell it.
Connect the fusebox power wire to the battery, the permanent 12v wire and the ignition 12v wire, and the crank signal wire to the multiplug under the steering column, switch on ignition and make sure the check light illuminates.
If it does then the ECU is powered up and ready for engine fire up.
Did you connect the oil pressure switch wire?
Fuel pump wired?
The transfer wiring doesn't affect engine starting/driving, but you will have no speedo.
p.s. Those plugs haven't arrived yet by the way.

They need to be linked together so the coolant can flow properly.Originally posted by zem_41 View PostOk cheers Vince, is not possible to cap both off?
Thanks for the heads up buddy
