Sorry for antoher question guys 
At certain rpm my engine has a slight tap / tick from the rocker cover area I think - I expect its more me being highly fussy with a old engine but id like to check it out for piece of mind so wondered what I should be checking ?
Valve clearances will be one thing to check but is there anything else under the cover thats worth checking ?
Also has anyone done the clearances on their engine and if so roughly how long does it take just to check them ? And then if they are out of spec how much longer does it take to change the shims ?
