Hi everyone,
From my understanding, the 1kz-te uses an electronic throttle plate/butterfly, and this also controls the EGR system.
When I first installed my boost gauge a few years ago, it would read about 1 or 2 lbs vac at idle (plumbed into the boost/vac damper).
I did extensive engine work last year including new head, new rings, bearings etc, and since putting it all back togehter, the gauge reads 2lbs vac at idle when the engine as cold, and then 4lbs vac at idle when it is warmed up. Once I touch the throttle, vac reading goes away (presumably from the throttle opening up), but the moment it goes back to idle vac is back.
I was just wondering if anyone has any boost gauge with vac that they could take a look at and tell me what reading they are getting?
Thanks for the help!
