You may or may not be glad to know that, after two years off the road my surf is now back and running beautifully thanks to a replacement front loom. It starts and runs without problem, quiet and with plenty of power, no smoke, no knocking or rattling. Thanks to those who made offerings etc and to Brad for supplying the loom.
There is still one strange phenomenon. At idle or low revs only the engine check light comes on and code 12 still rears its ugly head when checked out, this time though there is no running problem, in fact it is better than it has ever been. I am on the third fuel pump and second ECU as well as having the engine completely rebuilt. Changing the loom sorted out all the other problems (as the original had been chopped about considerably) but this one still remains. I am inclined to leave it to get on with its life as there are no signs of a problem. Has anyone any ideas of anything I should do or should I leave well alone?
