Hi there all u surf owners. I am here to tell people that i have owned a 91 surf 2.4td for 6 years now and it got converted from a 4 speed auto to a 5 speed manual and got rid of the EFI injector pump and put on a mechanical pump and it has improved my milage from 25-27mpg to over 31mpg driving around 60mph. It appears that the EFI pump and computer are only set for japanese conditions and when exported out u need to get the injector pump altered to suit country and driving conditions. These items also have an efect on engine life and overheating as the oil in your engine breaks down a lot quicker and should be changed at 3000km and not 5000km. This motor has had no problems with overheating as i changed the thermostat and the coolant when i bought the vehicle with a guaranteed 60,000kms on it. I use ethylene glycol mixed at a ratio of 50/50 with water. [/I][/I]
