As expected my insurance (Post Office/Aviva) has written off the Surf following my wife's accident last weekend.
The opening settlement offer isn't too bad - £3250 - but I am negotiating using current Autotrader adverts as evidence to get it up a bit.
Not so good is the quote to buy back the wreck - £1300! This seems a huge amount for what can only be a spares/breaker vehicle. Is this what you would expect to pay or is the insurance co trying it on?
