a new lease of life for the lux phew :)
well as some of you might know ive had nothing but a mare with my 2.4 auto shed type hilux well compression tested it tonight and i got 425psi on all 4 cylinders the book said it should be 427psi so i now know i dont need a new engine yippeeeeeeee 
sooooooo now narrowed it down to a slipped timing belt which would explain no throttle response and the knocking and banging when i did the compression test with the injectors out the knocking and banging was gone so im guessing its the idler pulley i reckon its that as the t belt and tensioner are not even a year old but the pulley wasnt replaced, so i think its that that has failed and the belt has slipped on the pump so thats gona be a sat job to have a look at that yippee again. if its not that its down to knock sensor failing or ecu. but ill let ya know.

@iamgifted thanks for the injectors pity it wasnt that but a spare set is always handy. ill still take the fan off ya but ill leave the turbo if thats ok.
