it isn't all about people not knowing how to drive... i been driving 25 years and when i tried the very steep , ice sheet that is my road with cars parked both sides and one opposite the T junction at the bottom, my bum quivered let me tell you...

did i laugh at the people who abandoned their cars at the bottom? no, i applauded them for being sensible, leaving it there rather than trying the hill, getting stuck and abandoning halfway or worse, smashing into some other innocent who had left their car at home...

Well we have been out all last night and all this morning helping pull people out and get them home!

Doesn't seem to matter how much it has snowed around here, i just cant seem to find anyone struggling enough to help. How dull.
Saw a bloke out of my landing window in the cemetary who had got stuck at 90 degrees to the road but by the time i got round there a load of people had turned up and pushed him out. Spoil sports.
We must have too much grit around here and not enough snow.

Apparently it has nothing to do with tyres or driving too fast it purely due to the council not gritting the roads enough, it must be purely their fault.

hhaha, My walk to school was 30 miles, uphill both ways.

Only 30 miles, ours was 50, cross country. We had to wade across a river half way there which was lucky as we needed somewhere to catch our lunch on the way. Then we had to sacrifice someone to lay across the quicksand to form a bridge. It was so cold we used to rub nettles on our hands and feet just so we could feel something. By the time we got there school was closed. Didn't learn much at school.

Just driven to Manchesgter and back from Preston.
Manchester have taken the day off again (soft sods) and it was the easiest i have ever got there. Straight through the 60/61 juction without even having to slow down(usual delay 20 mins).
I was 35 minutes early, the bloke I was meeting who lives in Manchester was 15 minutes late. I appoligised for being so early as I had been mis-informed that driving conditions where diffficult due to the snow.
Think I would have gone anyway whatever the conditions just for fun.

Remember the red welts very well, we used to turn our socks over the top of our wellies to keep them up, it never worked though. Remember getting ice build up on the strap of your duffel coat hood as well. Oooh not to mention balaclarva's. No self respecting youth would be seen dead in that get up these days, hoody and trainers, thats what you need in this whether.

i remember the old days with lots of snow, walking to school in my wellies , frozen feet stick in my mind.....oh and red welts on my legs with the wellies rubbing....

Reminded me of the joke about the midget woman who goes to doc's with a severe irritation of the lady bits.

Well it just took me 3 hours to do a 20 min journey - sheer hell. Snow on black ice an no fun at all. Back end steppin out all over the place an strugglin for grip on any slight incline. Dropped 3 inches in the space of hour an ground the region to a halt - no fun at all.
