Sorry that my first post is one asking for advice, but I've had a look around your site and it looks like the best resource for Surf's that I've found.
Essentially, I've been looking for a suitable vehicle for extensive overseas travel and the Surf is on the short list.
The important factors have been reliability, availability of parts in remote locations, comfort, economy and size.
The majority of the travel will be on roads and tracks (of some sort or another) so being the ultimate offroading vehicle is not high up on the list.
The vehicle budget is around £2,000.
You guys seem like the experts on the Surf, so do you have any advice about the suitability of the Surf, particularly on that budget? Any models I should avoid, or particularly look for?
