if lane info was freely available then this sort of situation would not happen.

    Didn't you see the pictures???

The Landy with the roof rack on got stuck and they had to use a strap to support the tree branches.

As Gordon says, there was very little room to turn and 6 trucks doing a 3 pointer in the guys back garden would have only escalated the situation.

We opted for what we thought was the quickest way to exit the guys land with the leat possible disruption and damage.

Remember we were trying to make the best of an unfortunate situation. It's all very well offering advice after the fact but going back down the original route would have created even more problems.

not all of us would have made it back through as the 110 was getting stuck under the branches and the discovery got a bit of a fright as nearly didnt make it through the first time.
Anyway, we would of been much more nuisance doing 3 point turns in his garden than just a quick left on to the paved road, past his house and away.

Should have just offered him money to use his road, a sort of toll. I've yet to meet a farmer who will turn down a dollar or two, especially a Yorkshire man

£20 each and I'll bet he would jump at it and tell you some better lanes.
