Hi folks,
Just want to thank previous posters for helping me get going with my 2.4 LN130, up here in the Scottish Borders. So far, this site has pointed me towards getting the Ellery's workshop manual, spares from Roughtrax & Milners and thanks to you lot I've worked out what 'that noise' was - the harmonic balancer.
Today after fighting with one rounded bolt after another (courtesy of a previous owner) at last I got down to removing the broken balancer - well, nearly. The double pulley part came away with the fan belts, but the inner bit had become separated from it and is still firmly gripping the crankshaft. I've bought a 'universal' pulley puller, but the slots on it don't match the bolt holes on the pulley, so more skinned knuckles are in store for me tomorrow.
Hopefully this is a temporary glitch and I'll be on the road again soon. Thanks again for the masses of info on these forums - better than a book on the car!
