...new glow plugs make to cold starting.
She's been a bugger to start on a cold morning lately. Even after all the tricks of 'give 3 clicks before turning over' etc. it got to the point where I was darn nearly flattening the batteries and creating white fog before she attempted to fire up. At first I thought it was perhaps the veg oil.
Time to fit new plugs I thought. So thats what I have just done. Took a while longer to fit than first anticipated owing to the turbo ducting getting in the way and I found another hidden problem, a split in the air duct from the filter box to the turbo.
Now even with the tired batteries from the previous failed attempt she fired up instantly from stone cold.
So the moral of poor cold starting... check/change your glow plugs.
