hello all,

I've acquired an ln130 with the 2lte engine and I'm currently stumped with an issue that I have narrowed down to a few things, just looking for a bit of guidance/help as I haven't been able to find much specific information. so its smoking quite a bit on start up, big puff of smoke and it idles quite rough and smokes for about 30 seconds and then idles completely fine, bit of blue smoke after but I'm suspecting that's a different problem. I had it in the shop when I first got it and they changed the fuel filter and primed the fuel system after removing old gelled fuel, and it started better but on a cold start still smoked out the shop. they told me they suspect that it is the injection pump, to which with what I've researched now that's what Im thinking as well, but maybe there is also air locked in the fuel system? I know having an air lock could cause the start up smoking and rough idle, just not sure if that's the issue. I had an oil sample sent in and there seems to be normal levels of everything, no coolant, no fuel, everything seemed normal in the sample. glow plugs were tested and they ended up replacing one of them. they also ran the engine out of fuel in the shop, and then refilled with fuel and bled the fuel system, surely that didn't cause any issues though? compression was good, so I have an idea what's going on, just wondering where to start. do I take apart the pump, clean it all, reseal and try it again? or do I outright buy a new pump ($$$$$$$)

cheers
