Hey vince, hopefully have the bits sent off soon, just waiting to sell my bike to get some cash.
I was wondering about the difference between the lexus selector and the surf selector? As the lexus has d3 and drive where as the surf has 'D' alone ?
Also how is it that there is no damage on the v8 when the belt snaps?
      Thanks

        D3 is overdrive on/off.
You knock the shift lever across to select overdrive instead of pressing a seperate switch.
The cylinder heads are non interference type i.e. the valves and pistons won't bang into each other if the timing belt breaks. The later VVTi heads are interference type.

So I tried to find out how much a new soarer oil filter mount would be today but Toyota can't do a thing without a frame number.
Would anyone happen to have a 1994 soarer frame number around?
            Thanks

Spoke to Toyota again and it's 2 weeks for delivery but only about £64 inc vat so not too bad, although I was told that Toyota in Hayes do not take phone orders and I have to go down there to order? Very strange, I think someone is just lazy!

                          Hey vince
Got a few queries if you have a minute.
Do you have any pics of any of your exhausts from the manifold down just so I have an idea.
Also where is the efi temp sender going?
Oh and do you know off hand what the inner diameter is of the big coolant hoses
                          Many thanks

                            Green EFI temp sender.....

Rad hoses are 38mm the same as the 3.0 diesel, the heater hoses are 16mm.

So got some more bits done today.
                                Egr valves blanked off
                                T belt removed
                                Exhausts wrapped
                                Bit of cleaning up done
Think I managed to get some crap in the bores though dam it!
                                Was gonna do heads anyway
Do I need to replace head bolts?
Does anyone know where to get a top end gasket set?
                                Thanks Vince :-)
