  • EGR system.

I have noticed that the vacuum pipe to the EGR valve is missing. Should I replace it? The fiche seems to show it has some sort of inline valve in the pipe, can I just fit a straight run of pipe without this inline valve/filter? I can't find the part number for this pipe let alone the little valve thing.
I've had a brief look at some EGR threads where people have removed the whole system but it seems to be trading one set of problems for another i.e. run-on etc.
Is it better to junk it or keep it standard? What are the gains/losses?

If the pipe is missing I would of thought someone has blanked the EGR. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just check that there are no open hoses causing a vacuum leak

Thanks for the reply. No, everything else seems to be in place. I happened to notice it while topping up the gearbox oil. I rummaged around to see if the pipe was still attached at the other end and managed to knock another one off as they are starting to perish. I've managed to find out where they all go and got some hose on order from ebay to replace them. I would imagine there is a leak at the other end where the EGR pipe goes.
