  • Help to Identify a Wire Please!

Could someone please help me in ID'ing the wires that have snapped off in the picture below. I could do with the name of it so I can order a new plug etc. Sorry for being dumb, new to diesels!

    Cheers in advance

Also in the same picture top right there is a red pipe/tube that has been cable tied, what would be the reason for this and what will happen if I cut the cable tie?

    Cheers

First one is wiring for the VSV that closes butterfly on engine shutdown. Engine may shake a little more than usual if not working, but will not cause any other problems. Better to fix though if you can.

Second is blocking the vacuum to the EGR Valve to stop it operating. Leave cable tied or block hose with a ball bearing.

See if someone is breaking a 2.4 Surf to get another plug for the VSV with some wiring attached and splice into your wiring. It has to be the same plug as other VSV plugs will be different.
