I think, but don't quote me, that the 4 pot calipers are the same fitting as the standard 4Runner, so should fit. Suppose it depends on the clearance you'll have inside the rims.

There is a video on YouTube by speedy'so garage I think, about brake caliper refurbish, and the guy mentions the calipers are from a Tundra and are going onto a 4Runner.

This is interesting. Maybe the guys who've done the 3rd gen upgrade came across 2nd gen stuff.

Here is the link to the third gen(original here) and yes someone has done it on the 2nd gen but had to do something with the wheels if i remember right. If someone hasnt come up with the link i will look it out tomorrow for you but this thread gives an idea....oh just noticed you posted on this one (remembered it from a while back!)

            Regards

What about the backs? Are you keeping drums?

whats the actual struggle with tundra brakes on a 2nd gen? is it the fact the wheels are 15 inch?
                      Yes it's a V8, don't you know I'm loco?

well, this is what i did,
first removed the whole assembly out to start checking how to fit it, and see what the differences in sizes

few pics for comparing (ish) the size of calipers, and disc.

                        calipers bolt pattern dont match

the disc its touching too much the dust shield,so need to trim it (about 10mm around) and i will shave behind the hub, to leave it level to the back of the wheel studs

drilled holes to fit it like the factory discs

                          brackets made

                          and fitted

                          sorry, not the best pic

then you saw already the end, on 16s, not sure if 15s will fit, still some space around the caliper and wheel

now, wait till i got the paint job finish to fit it all with some 305/70r16 tyres

i stopped for a while to do anything with this, now getting back in to it.
got a set of Prime 247 wheels (still looking for one more of same) and 30mm spacers, just clear it, about 4,5mm to touch the wheel, that is 15inch, not sure if you can appreciate that on the pics.
