Love the shadows of the trees on the floor, colours are all there as well, just tweaked them a bit for you, better or not?

Both very nice, but I prefer the tweaked version.

What software do you use Fricfrac?

Hmmm...looking at it on the phone, it's a bit dark and over-saturated. I'll have a proper look on the PC later though.

Fair enough, it is all subjective. The original looks a bit flat to me, not washed out, just a tad flat. I can`t see the exif so don`t know what camera you use, but most digital photographs need tweaking a little , very few are right straight out of the camera. I don`t spend a huge amount of time processing photos, some are obsessive about it though...

I use CS5, but elements or Paint shop are good enough for most usage. Gimp and Picasa are ok for freebie software.

It's not straight out of the camera. I tweaked the shadows and highlights, then adjusted the contrast. I was trying to get an HDR-ish look. It was actually quite light under the canopy because the trees are so tall and quite far apart.

HDR, definate marmite stuff there. I think CS has a built in HDR tool or you could try photomatrix. What you need to do in either case is open the shot adjust the exposure by -2 then save as -2, do the same for -1,1,+1 and +2, then blend all five shots using whichever HDR software you get.

Getting the effect out of one image is impossible as far as i`m aware. Happy to be corrected on that point as I am firmly in the don`t like HDR camp.Unless it is done very well and discretely.

The HDR tool in Photoshop is horrible; Photomatix is the only way to go, to be honest. I'm in the other camp - I love an over-the-top HDR image but it has to be good. I'll link some extraordinary stuff later. My wife's working from home today so I can't get to my PC 'til 5-ish.

OK...it's definitely looking a tad over-saturated. Did you tweak the contrast at all? I may try and go somewhere in between the two.

This is a link to the guy I was talking about earlier, and this is one of my favourites by him; I love this photo. Its title is Ghost Town.

Looking at it again, your right about the saturation, needs backing off.

This is the website I was on about, not my cup of tea, but I can see the work that he puts into it.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. It's not like the usual HDR stuff, either.

You should come and join us on the The Photography Forum, mate; they'd love your stuff on there.

Good pic, the first one looks more 'natural' though IMHO.

The second is like fake boobs, more eye catching, looks great but ultimately artificial.

I`m on a couple of photography forums, they all seem to be full of people intent on arguing about petty little things to be honest. I like our own little wildlife forum, very easy going and friendly.

Not sure if it is Ok to link it on here, but here goes.Don`t think it will ever effect this place.
